Karate - Cancel/Sing and Misfits - Cough/Cool 7"

KARATE - In 2005 Karate announced their demise, quietly closing the door on a 12-year run that included 6 studio albums and almost 700 performances in 20 countries. The band was made up of Geoff Farina (vocals, guitar), Gavin McCarthy (drums), and Jeff Goddard (bass). There's not much I can say to bring this amazing band the ultimate justice they deserve... except maybe "They fucking rule." A blend between rock, jazz, and sometimes even psychedelic, these guys keep it tight, and original. Geoff's lyrics are honest and thoughtful, wonderfully strung together and oh-so-fitting for this music. (In an earlier post I mentioned about lyrics not always being great, but here, they are.) Anyways, enough blabbering, please check out this EP, hopefully you'll enjoy.

TRY KARATE

MISFITS COUGH/COOL 7"
Now, I know what you're thinking, "Ew, the effin' Misfits?" But wait, this very first release of theirs is very much different from anything else they've done. Only two songs, it clocks in at about 3 minutes. I'm done typing for now so just try it and hear what could've been a great sound for them.
